Bun dau mam tom is a traditional dish of Northern Vietnam, but it is also very popular for HCMC people.

The rice vermicelli in Bun dau mam tom is compressed into bite-sized pieces, presented in a tray with crispy fried tofu, phụ vương com (a special version of Vietnamese ham, mixed with green rice flakes), rolled pork, and Vietnamese sausages. You dip all of them into the shrimp paste – a kind of sauce that has quite a strong smell, but super appealing.
